Alfonso Madera and Kristopher Wilson Killed in Butte County Head-On Collision on Highway 70
Butte County, California (July 6, 2021) – The California Highway Patrol has released the names of two people who were killed in a head-on collision near Yankee Hill in Butte County on Monday morning.
The deadly collision was reported at about 3 a.m. July 5, on Highway 70 near West Branch Bridge north of Oroville.
27-year-old Kristopher Wilson was driving a 2008 Mazda 3 eastbound on Highway 70 when he collided head-on with a westbound 2016 Ford Focus driven by 21-year-old Alfonso Madera.

Wilson, a resident of Oroville, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
Madera, a Sacramento resident, was flown to Enloe Medical Center where he died while undergoing treatment.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
