Jorge Mira and Manuel Landaverde Killed in Head-On Collision at Highway 180 and James Road in Kerman
Kerman, California (August 17, 2021) – 33-year-old Jorge Mira and 21-year-old Manuel Landaverde have been identified as the two drivers who were killed in a head-on collision that left four other people injured near Kerman in Fresno County on Monday evening, August 16.
At about 6:30 p.m., the California Highway Patrol received reports of a multi-vehicle collision at Highway 180 and James Road.
21-year-old Manuel Landaverde, of Kerman, was driving a Honda Odyssey when he allegedly drifted into the westbound lanes and collided head-on with an oncoming Ford driven by 33-year-old Jorge Mira, of Kerman.
A man driving a Dodge pickup truck behind the Honda when he swerved to avoid the crash and overturned.

Landaverde and Mira were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
Three people inside the Honda, including a 16-year-old teen and an infant, were injured in the accident and were transported to an area hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Dodge was hospitalized with moderate injuries.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
