Jesus Jimenez Injured in Fatal Highway 101 Car Crash in Willits near Hopland, Mendocino County
Willits, California (June 16, 2021) – Jesus Jimenez, 43, of Daly City, has been identified as the big rig driver who was seriously injured in a deadly collision involving a recreational vehicle in Willits, Mendocino County, on Tuesday morning.
The deadly collision happened at about 7:06 a.m. June 15, on Highway 101 in the Frog Woman Rock, between Hopland and Cloverdale.
Jimenez was driving a Mack semi-truck southbound when he collided head-on with a northbound U-Haul type motorhome.
The impact of the collision sent the truck about 100 feet down an embankment in the dry riverbed next to the Russian River.

The motorhome driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was killed in the accident. His name was not immediately disclosed.
Jimenez was extricated from his truck and flown to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment of major injuries.
The authorities are yet to establish if drugs and alcohol were factors in the crash.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
