Baby Killed in Hollister-Gilroy Car Accident on Highway 156 near Pacheco Creek Drive
San Benito, California (July 27, 2021) – The California Highway Patrol Hollister-Gilroy has released more information on a car crash that claimed the life of an 11-month-old baby in San Benito on Saturday, July 24.
The deadly collision happened at about 1:24 p.m. on State Route 156 west of Pacheco Creek Drive, in an unincorporated area of San Benito County.
The CHP determined that a 2019 Freightliner Cascadia driven by Satinderpal Singh was traveling westbound on Highway 156 when he failed to slow down for traffic and rear-ended a 2020 Toyota Corolla driven by Denisse A. Ramirez.
The impact of the collision pushed the Corolla into the rear of a 2021 Volvo VNL 760.
An 11-month-old baby in the Toyota was killed in the crash.
Infant Killed, 3 People Injured in Highway 156 Car Crash near Hollister-Gilroy in San Benito
Ramirez was injured in the crash and was transported to Hazel Hawkins for treatment.
Alex Soto and Lilia Cortez who were also riding in the Toyota were transported to Natividad Medical Center for treatment of unspecified injuries.
Singh and the driver of the Volvo were unhurt.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
