1 Killed, 2 Injured in Collision at Olive Drive and Knudsen Drive in Bakersfield

Bakersfield, California (August 28, 2021) – A woman who was killed in a car crash that occurred in Bakersfield on August 13 has been identified as 77-year-old Ima Jean Flippen.
The fatal crash happened in the area of Olive Drive and Knudsen Drive at about 9:22 p.m., the California Highway Patrol reported.
A 19-year-old woman was driving a Ford F-150 on the roadway when he drifted into the opposite lane and collided with an oncoming Ford Victoria driven by a 50-year-old woman.

Flippen was a passenger in the Ford Victoria and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
The driver of the Ford Victoria was transported to Kern Medical for treatment of major injuries.
The pickup truck driver was also hospitalized with major injuries. She was later arrested on suspicion of felony DUI causing injury and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
