Caleb Chavez and Ibrahim Homran Injured in Highway 65 Car Accident near Morton Avenue in Porterville
Porterville, California (August 8, 2021) – A 21-year-old man was killed in a car crash that left two other people injured in Porterville early Friday morning.
The fatal crash happened on Highway 65 near Morton Avenue at about 3:12 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
An international carrying a diesel tank was driving southbound on Highway 65 when it crashed into a guardrail and became disabled within the lanes.
A 2021 GMC driven by 23-year-old Ibrahim Homran is reported to have crashed into the disabled truck, pushing it into the center median.
A 2003 Honda also crashed into the semi-truck.

The driver of the Honda was killed in the accident, the CHP said.
23-year-old Caleb Chavez who was riding in the Honda was seriously injured in the accident and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
Homran was airlifted to an area trauma center with major injuries.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
