Gilbert Marquez Killed in DUI Car Accident on Highway 115 near East Albright Road in Imperial County
Imperial County, California (June 29, 2021) – 60-year-old Gilbert Marquez has been identified as the Brawley man who was killed in a suspected DUI car crash in Calipatria on Saturday afternoon, June 26.
At around 4 p.m., Marquez was driving a 2006 Ford F-250 southbound on Highway 115 approaching East Albright Road when his pickup truck was struck broadside by a 2012 Ford Fusion travelling west on Albright.
The impact of the crash caused the pickup truck to roll over several times, ejecting Marquez.

Marquez died at the scene of the accident.
The driver of the Ford Fusion, who has since been identified as 54-year-old Shefner Larnell Moore, was airlifted to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs for treatment of internal injuries. He was later arrested on suspicion of felony DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
