Gerardo Perez Killed in Oceanside Bicycle Accident on Oceanside Boulevard
Oceanside, California (June 3, 2021) – Gerardo Perez has been identified as the bicyclist who died after being struck by a suspected drunk driver in Oceanside on May 22.
Perez was riding a bicycle near the intersection of Oceanside Boulevard and Beverly Glen Drive at about 1:50 a.m. when he was struck by a car.
The vehicle veered off the roadway after the collision and crashed into a street sign, utility box and a tree.
Perez was killed in the accident, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The driver of the involved vehicle, who has since been identified as 21-year-old Rodolfo Pulido, was picked from the scene by family members.
Oceanside police conducted a traffic stop in the area and found Pulido bleeding and in possession of the involved vehicle.
He was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
