Francisco Hernandez Santana Killed in Highway 99 near Highway 58 in Bakersfield
Bakersfield, California (August 10, 2021) – 58-year-old Francisco Hernandez Santana has been identified by the Kern County Coroner’s Office as the Alhambra man who was killed in a car accident in Bakersfield last Thursday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened in southbound lanes of Highway 99 at the eastbound Highway 58 on-ramp at about 9:30 p.m., August 5.
Santana was driving a 2005 Ford sedan on Highway 99 near Belle Terrace when he failed to slow down for traffic and rear-ended a 2012 Ford two-axle truck.

Santana was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated by the fire department. Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident.
The truck driver suffered minor injuries in the accident but refused treatment.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
