Long Beach, California (August 17, 2021) – Two women were killed in a Monday morning car crash in Long Beach, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

The deadly collision happened at about 1:40 a.m. August 16, near Pacific Avenue and Willard Street.

The California Highway Patrol said 19-year-old Catrina Carrillo-Ruiz, of Long Beach, was driving a 2015 Toyota Camry when she collided with a 2017 Honda Civic driven by a 44-year-old Los Angeles woman.

Carrillo-Ruiz was transported to an area hospital where she died while undergoing treatment.

Catrina’s passenger, 23-year-old Frances Rodriguez, died at the scene of the crash.

The driver of the Honda and her passenger, a 30-year-old Gardena man, were hospitalized in critical but stable condition.
