1 Killed, 1 Seriously Injured in Early Tuesday Morning Cabazon Car Accident on Interstate 10
Cabazon, California (April 19, 2022) – Authorities are investigating a deadly accident that happened early Tuesday morning in Cabazon, leaving a car and a big rig engulfed.
One person was killed in the crash, and another suffered serious injuries.
California Highway Patrol officers were informed about the crash shortly before 2:00 a.m. on eastbound Interstate 10 near the Main Street on-ramp.
The crash involved a car of unknown description and a big rig. A motorcycle was also found near the crash scene, but it was unclear if it was also involved.
Investigators said the car was involved in a crash and overturned, coming to a rest on its side. Shortly after, the big rig crashed into the overturned car.
Both the car and the semi’s tractor caught fire after the impact and got fully engulfed.
Responding emergency crews said one person was killed in the incident. Another person sustained major injuries.
Eastbound Interstate 10 and the Main Street on-ramp to eastbound Interstate 10 were closed for an unknown period following the accident.
