VinsnowMotorcyclist Killed in Crash at Airport Drive and State Road in Bakersfield
Bakersfield, California (May 28, 2023) – A man was killed in a motorcycle accident at an intersection in Bakersfield on Sunday morning.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the accident was reported at around 11:18 a.m. at Airport Drive and State Road.
The motorcyclist was traveling westbound on State Road approaching the intersection.
At the same time, a driver was traveling north when he failed to stop at a red light and collided with the motorcycle.
BPD said the motorcyclist sustained major injuries and was taken to hospital where he later died.
The identity of the deceased was not released pending notification of the family.
The driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
Impairment did not play a role in the crash, police said.
The accident remains under investigation.
