Errol Hunt Dies in San Diego Accident on Mission Gorge Road
San Diego, California (July 9, 2022) – 82-year-old Errol Hurt has been identified as the man who died on Friday afternoon following a three-vehicle collision in San Diego.
Authorities said the accident was reported at about 4 p.m. at the 7500 block of Mission Gorge Road.
Hurt was driving a Toyota SUV westbound when he attempted to make a left turn onto a driveway on the south side of the road.
At the same time, a BMW and a Tesla were traveling eastbound when they failed to slow down and collided with the SUV.
The SUV rolled over from the impact of the collision and Hurt was seriously injured.
Paramedics responded to the scene and rushed Hurt to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The BMW driver, a 34-year-old man, sustained minor injuries.
The accident prompted officials to shut down Mission Gorge Road for several hours between Princess View and Mission Vista drives.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
