Driver Seriously Injured in Bakersfield Car Crash on Highway 58 near Chester Avenue
Kern County, California (July 9, 2021) – A driver was seriously injured in a collision involving two semi-trucks on Highway 58 in Bakersfield on Thursday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened in the westbound lanes of Highway 58 near the Chester Avenue offramp at about 5:50 p.m. July 8.
A white Nissan was traveling westbound on Highway 58 when it was rear-ended by a semi-truck. The impact of the crash pushed the car into the back of another big rig.
Driver Seriously Injured in Crash that Pinned Car Between 2 Semi-Trucks on Highway 58 in Bakersfield
Emergency crews responded to the incident and found the car sandwiched between the two trucks. The crews had to use a crane to lift the trailer and pull the car from underneath.
The driver was transported to the hospital with severe injuries, according to the CHP.
