Donald Green Killed in Highway 49 Car Crash at McKnight Way in Grass Valley
Nevada County, California (July 9, 2021) – Donald Green, 83, has been identified as the man who was killed in a collision on Highway 49 in Grass Valley last month.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly collision occurred near the intersection of McKnight Way and Highway 49 on June 4.
The police established that Green was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Malibu sedan and was turning onto northbound Highway 49 when he was struck by a southbound 2016 Volkswagen Passat driven by Joseph Lawson, 29, from Citrus Heights.

Green, a resident of Grass Valley, sustained major injuries and was transported to Sutter Roseville Medical Center where he died later that day while undergoing treatment.
Lawson sustained minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment, the CHP said.
The police said both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
Impairment was ruled out as a factor in the crash.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
