Clinton Palmquist Killed in Highway 62 Crash in Whitewater near Palm Springs
Whitewater, California (June 1, 2021) – Clinton Palmquist, 42, has been identified as the man who was killed in a wrong-way car crash on Highway 62 in Whitewater, near Palm Springs, on Monday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened on the eastbound lanes of Highway 62 near Dillon Road at about 10 p.m.
A vehicle was traveling westbound in eastbound lanes of the highway when it collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle.
One vehicle came to rest in the center divider while the other stopped on the right shoulder at Dillon Road.
Landers Man Killed in Head-On Collision on Highway 162 in Whitewater Identified
Palmquist, a resident of Landers, was killed in the accident, according to the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner’s Bureau.
The Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department personnel who responded to the incident had to extricate one person from the wreckage. The victim was transported to the hospital with moderate injuries while another was hospitalized with minor injuries.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
