Christine Embree Dies in E-Bike Accident at Basswood Avenue and Valley Street in Carlsbad
Carlsbad, California (August 11, 2022) – Christine Hawk Embree, 35, has been identified as the woman who died in a car crash that occurred on Sunday evening in Carlsbad.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at around 5:45 p.m. at Basswood Avenue and Valley Street near Carlsbad High School.
Christine was riding an e-bike on the roadway when she was hit by a Toyota 4-Runner.
Officials say the woman carrying her 16-month-old daughter at the time of the accident.
Christine was rushed to the hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. The daughter was unhurt.
The 42-year-old woman driving the car remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
