3 Injured in Two-Car Accident at Palermo Road and Lone Tree Road in Palermo, Butte County
Palermo, California (June 8, 2021) – A California Highway Patrol officer and two other people were injured in a car crash in Palermo, Butte County, on Sunday night.
The collision happened at about 10 p.m. June 6, in the area of Palermo Road and Lone Tree Road.
Officer Vue was attempting to apprehend a possible DUI driver while traveling westbound on Palermo Road.
The patrol vehicle was reportedly entered the intersection of Palermo and Lone Tree and collided with a southbound Kia Rio driven by 21-year-old Benjamin Calderiam.
The impact of the crash sent the patrol car off the roadway where it overturned several times.
Officer Vue was able to get out of the vehicle on his own and was transported to Oroville Hospital where he was treated and released.
Calderiam and his passenger, Daniel Drummond, were injured in the accident and were transported to Enloe Medical Center for treatment.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
