Kern County, California (July 26, 2021) – The Kern County Coroner has disclosed the identities of two people who were killed in a head-on collision in Bakersfield on Saturday afternoon.
According to California Highway Patrol’s Traffic Incident Information Page, the deadly collision happened at about 1 p.m. July 24, on Highway 65 near Burbank Street.
An SUV is reported to have collided head-on with a mini-van for unknown reasons.

85-year-old Charles Elbert Melton, of Delano, and 27-year-old Blas Roman Jr., of Porterville, were killed in the accident.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
