Luis Cardona and Cassie Goff Injured in Highway 166 Car Crash near Alamo Creek Road in Santa Maria
Santa Barbara, California (July 3, 2021) – Two people were critically injured in a head-on collision that left at least one person with moderate injuries in Santa Maria on Friday morning.
The accident happened at about 9 a.m. July 2, on Highway 166 near Alamo Creek Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A preliminary investigation revealed that 22-year-old Luis Cardona, of Palmdale, was driving a 2020 GMC Yukon westbound on Highway 166 when he drifted across the double yellow line and collided head-on with an eastbound 2004 Porsche Cayenne driven by 46-year-old Cassie Goff, of Las Vegas.
The Santa Barbara Fire Department crews responded to the incident and extricated Goff and a 14-year-old boy from her Porsche.

The boy was injured in the accident and was flown to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment.
Golf sustained major injuries including brain bleeding, an open fracture of her right leg and broken ribs, and was transported to Marian Regional Medical Center.
Cardona complained of pain and was transported to Marian Regional Medical Center.
The police closed Highway 166 between Alamo Creek Road and Bull Canyon Road as the scene was cleared.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
