Carlos Zuniga and Emanuel Esparza Dead after Meadowbrook Car Accident on Highway 74
Meadowbrook, California (April 11, 2022) – Carlos Zuniga, 26, of Lake Elsinore and Emanuel Esparza, 21, of Perris, have been identified as victims of a double fatal accident that happened in Meadowbrook early Sunday morning.
According to California Highway Patrol, a 2003 Mustang and a 2017 Kia Forte were involved in the collision on Highway 74 and Hammack Avenue.
At around 2:15 a.m. April 10, Zuniga was reportedly driving the Mustang east on westbound Highway 74 when he collided with the Kia, which was being driven by Esparza.
Both drivers died at the scene of the accident.
The crash also left two 15-year-old boys with major injuries. They were both rushed to Inland Valley Hospital for treatment.
The incident led to the closure of the highway for at least three hours as authorities worked to clear the scene.
The CHP is investigating the incident.
