Bruce Krejcik Hospitalized after Fatal Sonora Car Accident on Highway 108 near Old Wards Ferry Road
Sonora, California (July 26, 2022) – Bruce Krejcik, 72, of Tuolumne, sustained severe injuries in a head-on collision that claimed the life of another man on Sunday afternoon in Sonora.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly collision was reported at around 5 p.m. on Highway 108 near Old Wards Ferry Road.
A 41-year-old man from Sonora was driving a Mitsubishi Mirage westbound on the highway when, for unknown reasons, he drifted into eastbound lanes and collided head-on with a Lexus driven by Krejcik.
The Mitsubishi driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Krejcik was airlifted to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto with severe injuries.
CHP said the Mitsubishi driver was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
More details about the crash were not provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
