Bicyclist Seriously Injured in Livingston Collision on Vinewood Avenue near Robin Avenue
Livingston, California (September 7, 2021) – A 14-year-old boy was struck and seriously injured by a truck on Tuesday morning in Livingston.
The California Highway Patrol said the crash was reported at around 7:21 a.m. on Vinewood Avenue just west of Robin Avenue.
The cyclist was heading east of Vinewood Avenue when he was clipped by a Ford F-750 two-axle truck traveling the same direction.
The driver of the truck, Lane Johnson, 45, from Atwater, stopped and called the authorities to inform them of the accident.
The victim suffered severe but non-life- threatening injuries and was airlifted to Valley Children’s Hospital, CHP said.
Johnson remained at the scene and told the authorities the sun was in his eyes and he did not see the boy in the lane.
Impairment was not a factor in the crash.
The accident remains under investigation.
