Boy Killed in DUI Car Accident at Road 92 and Avenue 260 in Tulare
Tulare, California (July 25, 2021) – A teenager was killed in a car crash near Tulare on Saturday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The deadly collision occurred at about 10:45 p.m. July 24, at Road 92 and Avenue 260.
According to a preliminary investigation report, a 21-year-old Jerry Diaz Avila from Tulare, was driving northbound on Road 92 with a 19-year-old Hanford woman in the passenger seat when he drifted into the southbound lanes and collided head-on with a pickup truck being driven by a 19-year-old Visalia man.

The teenage pickup truck driver was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene of the accident.
The passenger in Avila’s vehicle sustained major injuries in the crash and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Dias was found to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident and was arrested.
The names of the victims were not immediately disclosed.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
