Ruby Edwards and Anthony Rollins Killed in Collision on Marin Avenue near Spruce Street in Berkeley
Berkeley, California (June 23, 2021) – Anthony Rollins, 64, of Richmond, has been identified as one of the two people who were killed in a car crash in Berkeley last month.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened on Marin Avenue between Spruce Street and San Benito Avenue at about 1:39 p.m. on May 11.
Two vehicles were traveling downhill on Marin Avenue when they collided in unclear circumstances. The impact of the crash sent one of the cars off the roadway where it crashed into a tree.

Rollins driving one of the cars and died at the scene, according the Alameda County Medical Examiner and Coroner.
57-year-old Ruby Edwards, who was a passenger in Rollin’s car, was transported to the hospital where she died while undergoing treatment.
The driver of the second vehicle was hospitalized with moderate injuries.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
