Driver of Classic Car Killed in Modesto Crash at Kiernan Avenue and Tully Road Identified
Modesto, California (October 7, 2021) – Andrew Avalos, 25, of Ceres, was killed in a collision on Thursday morning in Modesto, Stanislaus County.
The fatal car accident happened in the area of Kiernan Avenue and Tully Road at about 4 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
The man was driving a classic 1973 Datsun coup westbound on Kiernan when he crashed into the rear of a Honda sedan stopped at a red light.
A third vehicle is reported to have crashed into the disabled Datsun, shortly after the initial collision.

The police said Avalos was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. He was transported to Doctors Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.
The drivers of the other two vehicles were not injured.
No additional information about the accident was availed.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
