Alyssa Aragon-Ramirez Killed in 605 Freeway Car Accident near South Street in Cerritos
Los Angeles, California (February 19, 2022) – Alyssa Aragon-Ramirez, 26, of El Monte, has been identified as one of the two people who were killed in a fiery car crash in Cerritos early Friday morning.
The deadly collision occurred on the 605 Freeway near South Street at around 2:18 a.m., February 18.
The California Highway Patrol said the driver of a red Hyundai Elantra stopped on the shoulder of southbound 605 and then made a U-turn to traveling northbound in the southbound lanes.
The Hyundai then collided head-on with a car traveling southbound, causing both cars to catch fire.

A Good Samaritan pulled Alyssa from one of the cars and performed CPR on her. Sadly, she succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
The unidentified driver of the second car was also killed in the accident.
There were no passengers in either car.
The southbound lanes of the freeway were temporarily closed as the officers processed the scene.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
