Alani Aguilar Killed in Santa Car Rosa Accident on Highway 12 near Dutton Avenue
Santa Rosa, California (August 13, 2022) – The Sonoma County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office has identified Alani Aguilar, 24, of Santa Rosa as the woman who died in a multi-vehicle collision on Wednesday morning in Santa Rosa.
The California Highway Patrol said the accident occurred on Highway 12 near Dutton Avenue on-ramp at around 8:00 a.m.
Aguilar was driving a Nissan Versa when she collided with a delivery box truck. CHP said the box truck driver failed to notice the slow-moving traffic ahead and caused the collision. The box collided with the other four vehicles before it overturned.
The impact of the crash pushed the Nissan off the roadway where it overturned. Aguilar was trapped inside her vehicle and was extricated before being rushed to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, where she later succumbed to his injuries.
The box truck driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to the Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.
Officials say the other parties involved in the crash sustained minor injuries.
Alcohol and drugs did not appear to be a factor in the crash.
The accident remains under investigation.
