Harold Sawyer and Nicholas Hanson Injured in Fatal Vacaville Car Crash on 80 Freeway
Vacaville, California (August 13, 2021) – An Alameda woman was killed in a car crash that left two other people injured in Vacaville on Thursday morning, August 12.
At about 5 a.m., the California Highway Patrol received reports of a multi-vehicle collision on eastbound 80 at the I-505 interchange.
The woman‘s Toyota Camry is reported to have struck a center divider and bounced back to the roadway where it hit a Hyundai Ioniq driven by 71-year-old Harold Sawyer, Jr., of Albany.
Moments later, a Honda Civic driven by 42-year-old Angel Zavala-Alvarez, of Antioch; a Volkswagen driven by 33-year-old Nicholas Hanson, of Rohnert Park; and a GMC Sierra driven by 34-year-old Humberto Hernandez, of San Pablo, collided with the Toyota.
Alameda Woman Killed, 2 People Hurt in 80 Freeway Car Accident in Vacaville
The woman was ejected from the Toyota and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
The identity of the deceased was not immediately disclosed.
Sawyer, Jr. and Hanson sustained minor injuries and were transported to Kaiser Permanente Medical Center for treatment.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
