Adrian Calderon Killed in Merced Multi-Vehicle Pileup on Lake Road near Yosemite Avenue
Merced County, California (May 25, 2021) – 40-year-old Adrian Calderon has been identified as the Ceres man who was killed in a traffic collision in Merced on Sunday night.
The deadly crash happened in the southbound lane of Lake Road near Yosemite Avenue at about 8:38 p.m. May 23, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.
Calderon was driving a 2001 Honda Accord behind a 2014 Honda Accord. In front of the 2014 Honda Accord was a 2018 Dodge Durango that was stopped at a stop sign at the intersection.
Ceres Man Killed in Merced County Crash Identified
For unknown reasons, Calderon failed to slow down and crashed into the 2014 Honda Accord. The impact of the crash caused the 2014 Honda to hit the Dodge.
Calderon was extricated from the vehicle before being rushed to Mercy Medical Center where he died while receiving treatment.
The driver of the 2014 Honda Accord and two passengers sustained minor injuries and were transported to Mercy Medical Center.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
