Adam Whalen Killed in SR 55 Motorcycle Accident on 405 Freeway in Costa Mesa, Orange County
Orange County, California (June 18, 2021) – 34-year-old Adam Thomas Whalen has been identified as the motorcyclist who was killed in a collision with a car on State Route 55 in Costa Mesa on Wednesday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 10 p.m. June 16, on SR 55 near the 405 Freeway.
Whalen was riding his motorcycle on the freeway when he struck the rear of a 2014 Audi SUV in the No. 2 lane.
The impact of the crash ejected the rider onto the roadway where he was ran over by several vehicles.

Whalen, a resident of Santa Ana, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Orange County coroner’s office.
None of the drivers were injured in the accident.
The freeway was temporarily closed as the authorities cleared the scene.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
