Kern County, California (October 2, 2021) – At least seven people were injured in a traffic collision that occurred near Grocer Grade in Kern County on Thursday night.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened on Highway 166 at about 7:40 p.m. September 30.

A big rig hauling berries is reported to have crashed into the side of the mountain for unknown reasons.

A Dodge Ram and a Ford F-150 pickup truck that were traveling behind the big rig slammed into the disabled truck.

The big rig driver and at least six other people were injured in the accident and were transported to the hospital for treatment.

Additional information about the accident was not provided.

The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
