2 Killed in Motorcycle Accident on State Route 145 at Island Drive in Madera
Madera, California (July 8, 2021) – Two people were killed in a motorcycle accident outside Madera on Wednesday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal motorcycle accident happened on State Route 145 at Island Drive at about 9:12 p.m. July 7.
A 2011 Hyundai was traveling on Highway 154 approaching Island Drive when the driver began to make a left turn and struck a 2016 Harley Davidson motorcycle.
A 67-year-old man and a 63-year-old woman riding the motorcycle were ejected from the motorcycle.
Man and Woman Die after State Route 145 Motorcycle Accident in Madera
The man was transported by Skylife to Community Reginal Medical Center in Fresno where died while undergoing treatment.
The female passenger was transported to Madera Community Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
The condition of the car driver was not disclosed.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
