2 Killed, 2 Injured in Sutter Car Crash on Highway 20 near North Humphrey Road
Sutter, California (July 7, 2021) – Two people were killed and two others were injured in a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 20 in Sutter on Tuesday afternoon, July 6.
At around 2:30 p.m., the California Highway Patrol responded to a three-vehicle collision on Highway 20 near North Humphrey Road.
A preliminary investigation established that a Nissan Titan and a GMC 3500 were traveling eastbound on Highway 20 when the Nissan drifted into the opposite lanes for unknown reasons and collided head-on with a gravel truck.
The GMC was traveling behind the Nissan and crashed into the Nissan’s cargo bed that had detached from the vehicle.
2 Killed in Multi-Vehicle Collision on Highway 20 in Sutter
The driver of the Nissan and a passenger were killed in the accident. Their names were not immediately disclosed.
The drivers of the gravel truck and the GMC were injured in the accident and were transported to the hospital in unknown condition.
The CHP temporarily closed a section of Highway 20 to facilitate an investigation into the accident.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
