2 Killed in Wrong-Way Crash on 605 Freeway near South Street in Cerritos
Cerritos, California (February 18, 2022) – Two people died in a fiery head-on collision on Friday morning in Cerritos.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly collision happened on the 605 Freeway near South Street at around 2:30 a.m.
A Hyundai was had been stopped on the right shoulder before it turned around and travelled northbound in the southbound lanes.
The Hyundai then collided head-on with a Honda Civic and both cars caught fire.

The driver of the Honda, identified only as a woman in her 20s or 30s, was pulled out of the car and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Hyundai driver was trapped inside the vehicle and died at the scene.
The identity of the deceased was not immediately disclosed.
The collision resulted in the closure of the southbound lanes of the freeway for several hours.
More details about the accident were not provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
