2 Killed in Fresno Car Accident on Highway 99 near McKinley Avenue
Fresno, California (September 4, 2022) – Two people died in a two-car crash that occurred on Saturday morning in Fresno.
The fatal crash happened at around 6:00 a.m. on Highway 99 near McKinley Avenue at around 6 a.m.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a black 2015 Genesis and a red 2001 Mitsubishi collided in unclear circumstances.
The impact of the collision sent both vehicles off the roadway where the Mitsubishi struck a tree and became entangled at the base. The Genesis crashed through a fence and came to rest in a field.
The driver of the Mitsubishi and a 19-year-old Mendota woman who was a passenger in the vehicle was killed in the accident.
The 21-year-old Fresno man who was driving the Genesis was injured in the crash and was transported to Community Regional Medical Center. He was later arrested on suspicion of DUI causing death.
