Lassen County, California (November 11, 2021) – Two people were killed in a head-on collision in Susanville, Plumas County, on Tuesday afternoon.

California Highway Patrol said the accident happened at about 2:29 p.m., November 9, on Highway 32 west of Chester

A Ford F150 was traveling westbound on SR-32 when it drifted into the opposite lanes for unknown reasons and collided head-on with an eastbound Ram 3500 driven by 24-year-old Robert Ramirez, of Woodland.

The Ford F150 spun off the south side of the roadway and rolled down an embankment before catching fire.

2 Killed in Head-On Collision on Highway 32 in Susanville

Both occupants of the Ford F150 sustained fatal injuries in the accident.

The names of the deceased were not immediately disclosed.

Ramirez and his passenger 23-year-old Joaquin Hendrickson, also of Woodland, sustained moderate to major injuries and were taken to Enloe Medical Center in Chico.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
