2 Motorists Killed in Bakersfield Crash on I-5 Freeway near Lerdo Highway
Bakersfield, California (June 8, 2021) – Two people were killed in a wrong-way car crash on Interstate 5 Freeway in Bakersfield early Saturday morning, June 5.
At about 2 a.m., two vehicles collided head-on on the 5 Freeway near Lerdo Highway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
One of the cars was traveling the wrong way prior to the collision.

Both drivers were killed in the accident.
The identities of the individuals were not immediately disclosed.
The officers said there were no passengers in the vehicles.
Both motorists were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
