Tulare County, California (September 7, 2022) – One Person was killed in a collision involving a semi-truck near Dinuba in Tulare County on Tuesday afternoon.

The California Highway Patrol said the accident occurred on Avenue 384 near Road 56 at about 12:42 p.m.

A 28-year-old driver of a Toyota Tacoma was traveling westbound on Avenue 384 when they drifted into the opposite lane and collided with a fully loaded big rig.

Witnesses told CHP the Tacoma driver was driving recklessly in and out of the traffic lane when the collision occurred.

The pickup crashed on the side of the semi, and the impact caused it to overturn while the semi jackknifed and spilled some of its loads to spill on the roadway.

The driver of the pickup truck was pronounced dead at the scene.

The big rig driver was not injured.

Alcohol and drugs did not appear to be factors in the crash.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
