Driver Dies in Stanislaus County Crash on West Grayson Road near Shiloh Road
Stanislaus County, California (September 23, 2022) – A driver was killed in a head-on collision that happened in Stanislaus County on Thursday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2017 Ram pickup was traveling eastbound on West Grayson Road when the driver attempted to pass another vehicle and veered into the opposite lane.
The pickup truck then collided head-on with an oncoming Freightliner and both vehicles eventually came to a stop in the eastbound lanes where they burst into flames.
The pickup truck driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of Freightliner, Raul Moreno, was able to get out of the vehicle uninjured.
Moreno was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the collision, but it wasn’t immediately determined whether the ram driver was impaired.
