Huntington Beach, California (June 1, 2022) – An 82-year-old Seal Beach man was killed in a head-on collision that happened on Tuesday afternoon in Huntington Beach.
Authorities said the accident was reported at around 12:30 p.m. on Pacific Coast Highway near Goldenwest Street.
The Seal Beach man was driving a 2005 Toyota Camry southbound when, for unknown reasons, he crossed over a raised median onto the opposite traffic and collided head-on with a 2013 Volkswagen GTI.
The driver of the Toyota was killed in the crash. His name was not released pending notification of the family.
The GTI driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
It’s unclear whether impairment played a role in the crash.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
