1 Killed in Hughson Car Crash on Geer Road near East Hatch Road
Stanislaus County, California (June 24, 2021) – At least one person was killed in a head-on collision near Hughson in Stanislaus County on Wednesday afternoon, June 23.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 2:30 p.m. on Geer Road just north of East Hatch Road, near the Stanislaus Wildlife Care Center.
A 61-year-old Turlock man was driving a 2005 Chevy pickup truck southbound on Geer Road when he lost control and hit a raised curb.
The impact of the crash sent the vehicle into the path of a passing 2013 Nissan sedan and the two vehicles collided head-on.

The unidentified male driver of the Nissan was killed in the accident.
The driver of the Chevy was transported to an area hospital for treatment in an unknown condition.
The police established that both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
The crash resulted in the temporary closure of Geer Road between Hatch and Jantzen roads to facilitate the processing of the scene.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
