1 Killed and 1 Injured in Highway 65 Car Crash at James Road in Bakersfield
Kern County, California (July 13, 2021) – One person was killed in a head-on collision that left a second person injured in Bakersfield on Sunday morning, July 11.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened on Highway 65 at James Road at about 12:13 a.m.
The police established that a 2003 Infiniti was traveling southbound on Highway 65 when it drifted into the opposite lanes and collided head-on with a northbound 2011 Chevrolet.

The 27-year-old driver of the Infiniti, identified only as a Carson resident, sustained major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Bakersfield man who was driving the Chevrolet sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Kern Medical for treatment.

The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
