1 Killed and 4 Injured in Head-On Collision on Highway 101 in Willits
Willits, California (September 13, 2021) – One person was killed in a head-on collision that left four other people injured in Willits on Sunday morning.
The deadly collision happened on Highway 101 near the Ridgewood Scale Facility at about 11:04 a.m. September 12.
The California Highway Patrol established that a 29-year-old man was driving a 2000 Acura lntegra northbound on Highway 101 when he allowed the vehicle to drift into the southbound lanes and collided head-on with a 2009 Dodge Ram driven by a 29-year-old woman.
The impact of the collision caused the Dodge to strike the guardrail and overturn within the number two lane of US-101 southbound.
Man Killed in Highway 101 Car Accident in Willits
The driver of the Acura was killed in the accident.
The driver of the Dodge sustained major injuries and was transported to Adventist Health Howard Memorial Hospital.
Three passengers of the Dodge were transported to Adventist Health Howard Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
