1 Killed and 3 Injured in Car Accident at Cactus Avenue and Indian Street in Moreno Valley
Riverside County, California (July 8, 2021) – At least one person was killed in a car crash at an intersection in Moreno Valley on Tuesday night, July 6.
At about 11: 58 p.m., the California Highway and the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department received reports of a traffic collision near the intersection of Cactus Avenue and Indian Street.
The officers established that a Tesla Model-S was traveling northbound on Indian Street when it failed to stop for a red signal light at the intersection and crashed into a Nissan Versa traveling eastbound on Cactus Avenue.
Driver Killed in Collision at Moreno Valley Intersection
The impact of the collision caused the Nissan to roll several times and land on its roof, ejecting the driver. The Tesla left the roadway and crash through a cinderblock wall before coming to a stop in the backyard of a residential property.
The driver of the Nissan was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the CHP.
The driver of Tesla and two passengers sustained minor to moderate injuries and were transported to a local area hospital for treatment.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
The Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team is investigating the accident.
