San Diego, California (July 25, 2021) – A driver was killed in a head-on collision that left two other people injured on Saturday afternoon in Vista.
The fatal crash happened at about 1:30 p.m. July 24, on Vale Terrace Drive near Williamston Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A preliminary investigation indicated that a white Mazda was traveling eastbound on Vale Terrace when the driver lost control and collided with a westbound Chevrolet Silverado.

The 44-year-old driver of the Mazda was taken to the hospital where they died while undergoing treatment.
A 44-year-old female passenger in the Mazda was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
The CHP said the 77-year-old driver of the Silverado was transported to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
