Person Killed, 2 Hurt in Anaheim Crash on 57 Freeway at Lincoln Avenue
Anaheim, California (August 25, 2021) – One person was killed and another was injured when a truck went off the freeway and crashed into two apartment buildings in Anaheim on Tuesday afternoon.
The California Highway Patrol said the accident was reported at around 12:40 p.m. on the southbound side of 57 Freeway, at Lincoln Avenue.
A dump truck veered off the freeway and slammed into a vehicle that had stopped on the off-ramp, careened across Lincoln Avenue and hit two other vehicles.
The truck then continued through a carport and crashed into two apartment buildings before coming to a stop, the CHP said.
A man in one of the apartments was struck and smashed into the second building. He was killed in the incident.
The truck driver suffered minor to moderate injuries and was taken to a hospital.
The driver of one of the vehicles involved in the collision complained of pain and was also taken to a local hospital for examination.
More details about the crash were not available.
The accident remains under investigation.
