1 Injured in San Ysidro Car Accident on I-5 Freeway near Highway 905

San Diego, California (September 26, 2021) – One person was injured in a wrong-way car crash on I-5 Freeway in San Ysidro early Saturday morning.
The collision happened at about 2 p.m. September 25, on southbound I-5 near State Route 905, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A red Honda Civic was traveling north in a southbound lane and collided head-on with a Toyota Tacoma. The collision triggered a chain-reaction collision involving three other vehicles.
A passenger in one of the vehicles suffered a broken leg and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Injuries Reported in Multi-Vehicle Collision on 5 Freeway in San Diego
The CHP said there were two other possible injuries.
The officers blocked the southbound I-5 left lanes of the freeway as the scene was processed.
